The country covers 65,000 square km with a population of 2.3 million. Riga is the largest city in the Baltics. Latvia joined the EU in 2004 and is part of the Eurozone since 2014. GDP growth is approx. 2.5 %. Corporation tax is 15 %. The language spoken is Latvian.
The forestland area is 3.3 million ha, which is 52 % of the land (45 % is privately owned).
The forest sector's contribution is 3.4 % of the total GDP, and forest products' contribution is 22 % of total exports.
