Latvian imports of forestry products grew by 10.7% in first half year 2017


In the first half of 2017 Latvia imported EUR 395.769 million worth of forestry products, which was a rise by 10.7% from January-June 2016, the Agriculture Ministry said LETA.

Timber and timber products made up most or 56.8% of total forestry product imports in the first six months of 2017 (56.4% in January-June 2016), accounting for EUR 224.646 million and rising by 11.4% from the same period a year ago.


Lithuania supplied the largest amount of forestry industry products to Latvia in the first half of 2017, accounting for EUR 78.804 million and Estonia supplied products for EUR 49.86 million.
