Swedish timber industry SCA acquire forest in Estonia

On 3 June it was announced that the Swedish timber industry SCA has acquired 10,000 hectares of forest  from Forestum Group for a price of 39 million EUR.

The forests are located on the islands of Saaremaa and Hiiumaa off the cost of Estonia and holds a total standing timber volume of 1,3 million m3.

This acquisition follows the purchase of 10.000 ha in Latvia by SCA in April this year (see HD Forest News from 11. April) and underlines the overall aim of SCA to get a strategic forest ownership position in the Baltics.
