What is HD Forest?
HD Forest is a Baltic forest investment company with local offices in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania respectively. Here we manage approximately 100.000 ha of forest for our international investors.
When you invest with us, we establish a limited company that will buy forest properties according to your amount of investment. We can establish the deal however you like it: You can become a “hands on investor”, if you want to be a part of the daily forest management; but you can also let us handle the entire investment including daily management, financial reporting and even administration of your local bank account.
Our vision is to become the greatest independent forest investment company in the Baltics and become the role model for modern forestry. All of our forests are certified by the recognized certification systems FSC and/or PEFC to ensure a sustainable management of your forest investment.
The historical Danish mothership
HD Forest is a part of Hedeselskabet – a Danish forestry company that has existed since 1866.
Hedeselskabet was founded in the time after Denmark had lost considerable areas of arable farming land as a consequence of the 1864-war that Denmark lost to Prussia. The vision of Hedeselskabet was to reestablish what was lost: Thus the company started to cultivate unproductive heathlands; in this process afforestation was an important ingredient to the success. Since then Hedeselskabet has managed forests: More than 150 years of experience managing Danish forests has provided the company with a vast bank of knowledge that HD Forest and its clients can account on.
